“The Texture Society” La Pelucherie x Dedar. In support of Dynamo Camp
Dedar presented a Special Edition of textile animals hand-sewn by La Péluchérie and made entirely of Dedar fabrics from the Texturologie collection.
On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2023, Dedar presented “The Texture Society”, a special edition of textile animals in collaboration with the historic French brand La Péluchérie. The seven animals, available in a limited edition of only 130 pieces, are entirely made with fabrics from Dedar's Texturologie collection, which makes materiality its expressive language.
The selected patterns and textures create an unusual group of animals that investigate the relationship between form, material and textile art. All the beauty of the natural world is translated into a wide variety of yarns and weaves that explore different degrees of softness and material. The different animals, designed in the Paris ateliers of La Péluchérie and entirely hand-sewn in Italy, are combined with tailoring finishes created by experienced craftsmen.
"The Texture Society" was exhibited in the Dedar showroom with the installation "Il Bestiario" curated by Studio Ossidiana, the studio founded in Rotterdam by Giovanni Bellotti and Alessandra Covini, which operates at the intersection of architecture, design and landscape.
“Per raccontare la collezione di animali tessili di Dedar, e tutte le loro sfumature tattili, abbiamo pensato a un bestiario di animali-casa, chimere tessili a cavallo tra l’architettura e la zoologia, un po’ nido per i peluche, un po’ creature immaginarie. Ci piace pensare che i peluche siano i primi oggetti con cui impariamo a prenderci cura del mondo.” (Studio Ossidiana)
The Special Edition was on sale from 17 April in the Dedar Showroom in Via Fiori Chiari 18 and online on La Péluchérie website.
The profit from limited edition sales was donated to the Dynamo Camp Onlus association, which since 2007 has been offering recreational therapy programmes for children and young people aged 6 to 17 years with serious or chronic illnesses in therapy and supporting their families.
