Dedar signs the fabrics for ‘The End’, the new film by Joshua Oppenheimer
A selection of Dedar fabrics dresses the set of the post-apocalyptic film by the American director Joshua Oppenheimer.

Decades after an environmental and social collapse, a father (Michael Shannon), mother (Tilda Swinton) and son (George MacKay) live as refugees in a former salt mine. Within the walls of their underground bunker — a space that, over the years, has become both home and memory — every detail reflects an attempt to preserve a sense of normality in a place suspended in time.
This timeless universe is shaped by a selection of Dedar fabrics, chosen for their expressive and evocative character. From the soft, luminous velvets of Plushy and Adamo & Eva to the textured, decorative jacquards of Giardino Di Maggio, Calicanto and Amuleto, each fabric contributes to creating an atmosphere of intimacy and quiet elegance.

“When creating the underground world of The End, we were looking for fabrics that could evoke emotions and lend authenticity to the environment. The material quality and refined colour palette of Dedar fabrics were perfectly in tune with the design I had imagined […].” — Jette Lehmann, Production Designer

The colour palette ranges from the muted shades of Nimbus and Chambray to the intense, deep hues of Ukiyo Monogatari and About Flowers, essential in expressing the quiet resilience of a family that, even half a mile underground, preserves its sense of humanity.
